Playing Different Voices On Keyboard?
I’d like to learn how to make full use of the 10 or so voices I have on my Yamaha keyboard. I’ve played piano for a number of years and can read music and learn music (slowly, but I can almost always learn a given piece given some time).
However, I’ve always just been that – a piano player. I’d like to know how to play good string pieces on my keyboard (I like the string voice on my keyboard, and the demo is pretty sweet).
Are there any books specifically for playing string pieces on keyboards? Or do people simply buy string books and then play them on keyboard? I can’t play any strings (well, other than guitar) so I’d like a book that taught piano players how to make use of string voices on the keyboard (what to do, what not to do, etc so it sounds good). Other voices would be welcomed as well, although the other voices are more ‘piano-like’ so it’s pretty easy to take a simple piano piece and change the voice without changing the piece. Strings are too different.
Any advice?
