Is it easy to learn the guitar if you have had previous experience with the keyboard?

I am thinking about taking guitar lessons and I am wondering if there are any similarities between it and the keyboard.

I have played the piano for about 5 years, so i have no problem with reading sheet music. However I don’t know how to read guitar tabs so I was wondering if it is hard to learn in comparison with the piano.

How Do I Become An Accomplished Pianist?

I’ve been playing since i was 14, but practicing is starting to feel useless. I’m in the Jazz Band and all I do is play chords.

So what I know. I know how to read music, play scales and identify chords. I still need help understanding them though. I play a lot of songs and I never get better. I don’t really understand theory and I can sight read.

So if you got tips other than practicing, getting a teacher, or reading a book, please tell me so I can finally be called an accomplish pianist!

How to sight read and play piano at the same time ?

i tried to sight read, but i’m slow at it, and i also have another problem, how will i be able to place my fingers on the correct key to play the notes if i can sight read fast enough, i mean my pair of eyes can only look at either the sheet music or the keys on the piano,one at at time, if i sight read then how am i gonna know which keys to press out of the 88 keys or if i look down just for a sec or two , wouldnt i lose track of where i am at on the sheet music and ended up pausing the songs by a few seconds here and there?

I remember some1 telling me that i should be playin the bass cleft several times and try to memorize it and then play the treble cleft several times and try to memorize, then put it together and play the whole song. but it’s not workin i suck at memory, i mean i could remember some but forget some part, it is extremely slow and is this even the right method if it takes u a month to learn a song this way?
