my computer wont read music cds?

i just got a new hp pavilion dv2000, i’ve barely had it a week, and i put in a cd and it doesn’t recognize it’s there. i put in a microsoft office cd and it worked fine. what do i need to do to get it to read cds
i have microsift vista ultimate for an operating system

Piano Sight Reading Help?

I am 13 years old, and I am having a lot of trouble sight reading. I can read some chords in the treble clef easily as long as there are no seconds or accidentals by sight, but I oftentimes find myself struggling to read the notes, and reading them one at a time. My bass clef notes are rusty and hard to read(I still use A.ll C.ows E.at G.rass). I consider myself an advanced pianist, I play works by Chopin, Liszt, Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, and other classical composers, but when I learn to play a piece, I memorize it as I learn it, and I do not read music when I perform. I began playing advanced classical pieces at the age of 11-12(which was a huge leap from my children’s piano books) with barely any foundation on scales, arpeggios, or chords….what should I do to improve my sight reading and technique? Thanks.

College audition and interview?

I have an audition and interview tomorrow at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and I’m soooo nervous!
This is my top, favorite school, but my very first interview and audition. I don’t want to mess up or make a fool of myself! I’ve prepared my piece, but am still very nervous about the sight reading, ear training, ‘blues progression’ and stuff.

Any words of wisdom, advice, tips, and suggestions would be appreciated!!

How can I teach an 8 year old to read music?
